■ Overdue Fines
- Any overdue fines incurred before September 30, 2021 would be waived.
‐ The maximum length of the period capable of renewal depends on the item and the patron’s status.
- Do not attempt to return your loans when it is hard for you to go out, even if the books are overdue. Please ignore overdue notice emails that are generated and sent to you automatically.
‐ If you are finished with the items you have borrowed, or the items are reserved by someone else, we kindly ask you to return them as soon as possible. Returning by mail is welcome. Please note the shipping fee is on you.

For the time being, the function will be available only to those affiliated with Keio University.
■Returning Library Items by Mail
We accept returns by mail. Please keep in mind that the service is a special measure for corona virus outbreak, and is not available usually.
Accepted: From Monday, March 22 to Thursday, September 30, 2021
*The items sent out on the very date are also subject to our special measures.

*Pack the items with care to prevent any damage. We may ask you for replacement cost if the items get damaged during transit.
*Please contact the receiving library to let them know that the items will be coming, as well as the date of dispatch and the designated date of delivery.
*Make sure that the loans arrive at the library on or before the due dates. Return process will be carried out as soon as we receive them. We regard the "date of dispatch" as the date of return regardless of the actual arrival date.
■Membership Renewal for the Full Time Degree Students Staying at University for Another Academic Year
Usually the procedure is done in person at counter. We temporarily accept your application by email, not by phone.
All you have to do is sending an email to the Circulation Department of your home library.
Be sure to include the following:

Enrollment to a Keio University Graduate School
Extension of Your Enrollment Period [Your membership may be extended until the end of April or October.]
Attendance as a Non-Degree Student [Your membership may be extended until the end April.]
*Be aware this is the membership renewal.
We do NOT renew your active loans. Please extend your loan periods by yourself after renewing your membership.

-Issuing a letter of introduction *From April 1
A letter of introduction is required when visiting libraries of other universities and institutions.
We suspend issuing of the letter, for many libraries including Keio are restricting visitors as precaution against coronavirus.
We suspend to apply library guidance due to coronavirus.
We consider to offer library guidance via online Instead of in person tour.
It may take longer to receive books or articles because of library closed etc.
The book drops service is currently open.
As a part of the special measures related to the spread of coronavirus infection, we temporarily install the book drop for the patrons who refrain from entering the library.
Please put your loans in the book drop before due dates. In case of overdue, the part of the fines will be waived by the special rules.
For the items returned in person to the library counter, we process them in the same way.
◆The following items must NOT be put in the book drop:
- Fragile items likely to get damaged, such as semi-rare books, books bound in Japanese style, audio-visual materials and any other items in bad condition.
- Items that have been required to return in person when checking out.
◆The items returned through the book drop are collected and processed one by one.
- It may take some time for the return to be reflected on your My Library.
- Please note that notification emails about due dates may be sent to you automatically even if you have returned the items.
The emails would no longer be sent as soon as the procedure is completed.
