Library hours and schedule will be changed as follows, considering the novel coronavirus outbreak. Last updated: October 15, 2021

Here are the latest announcements from Shinanomachi Media Cener referring to the novel coronavirus outbreak. This web page is updated as things progress.

[Important] Change in Library Hours (Effective from April 26, 2021)

・ The opening hours are changed as below:
 Monday-Friday 8:45-20:00
 Saturday 8:45-18:00
 Sunday 13:00-18:00

・ The services are limited to Shinanomachi Campus members (including Alumni of Keio University School of Medicine).

・ The reading room (1st floor), the browsing room, and reading seats on the 1st and 2nd floors of the stack room are available. Please contact the service counter.

・ Computers (the ITC-PCs) are not available.

・ The serminar room and the group study room are closed.

* Please refrain from visiting the library if you are uncomfortable with a physical condition such as a cold symptom accompanied by a fever of 37.5 ° C or higher.

* Please disinfect your hands after passing through the entrance gate, and wear a mask in the library.

* The correspondence may change in the future. Please check Shinanomachi Media Center website and Twitter at any time.

■ For Visitors

  We will temporarily suspend the admission of visitors from April 1 as precaution for coronavirus.
  Only those who are currently affiliated with Keio University may visit and use our libraries.

Special Measures for the Circulation Service : Last updated: September 24, 2021

Overdue Fines
-In order to have your overdue fines waived, make sure to return your overdue loan(s) by Monday, January 31, 2022, regardless of the due dates.
-[IMPORTANT] From Tuesday, February 1, we are going back to the previous rule. You will be required to pay ALL of the fines incurred so far.

-Please keep in mind that there might be some cases in which you cannot extend your loan period. The loan period cannot be renewed endlessly. It is capable of being renewed within a given length of period.
-Even after returning, overdue notice emails might possibly be generated and sent to you until the processing is completed.
-If you are finished with the item(s) you have borrowed, or the item(s) is(are) reserved by someone else, we kindly ask you to return it(them) immediately. Returning by mail is welcome. Note the shipping fee is on you.

For the time being, the function will be available only to those affiliated with Keio University.


■Returning Library Items by Mail
We accept returns by mail. Please keep in mind that the service is a special measure for corona virus outbreak, and is not available usually.

Must be sent: on or before Monday, January 31, 2022
 *The items sent out on the very date are also subject to our special measures.

*The shipping fee is on you. Keep in mind that you are responsible for any problems occuring during transit.
*Send your loans to the library of your home campus. The sending address is listed above.
*Pack the items with care to prevent any damage. We may ask you for replacement cost if the items get damaged during transit.
*Please contact the receiving library to let them know that the items will be coming, as well as the date of dispatch and the designated date of delivery.
*Make sure that the loans arrive at the library on or before the due dates. Return process will be carried out as soon as we receive them. We regard the "date of dispatch" as the date of return regardless of the actual arrival date.
*The items sent out during the grace period are also subject to our special measures.

■Membership Renewal for the Full Time Degree Students Staying at University for Another Academic Year
Usually the procedure is done in person at counter. We temporarily accept your application by email, not by phone.
  All you have to do is sending an email to the Circulation Department of your home library.
  Be sure to include the following:
  ①Student ID
  ②Full Name
  ③Current Affiliation
  ④Day Phone
  ⑤Reason for Membership Renewal *Choose one.
   Enrollment to a Keio University Graduate School
   Extension of Your Enrollment Period [Your membership may be extended until the end of April or October.]
   Attendance as a Non-Degree Student [Your membership may be extended until the end April or October.]
  *Be aware this is the membership renewal.
  We do NOT renew your active loans. Please extend your loan periods by yourself after renewing your membership.
