Media Center for Pharmaceutical Sciences: Online Service Requests / Other Services

  • When using the online request form, please carefully read all notices that appear on-screen.
  • Personal information collected in the request forms will be used for the purposes of carrying out procedures at the Media Center, providing various services, and contacting the library user.
    Please refer to the “Privacy Policy of the Media Center” page.

If an item you need is not kept at the Media Center for Pharmaceutical Sciences, you may obtain a photocopy or borrow it from another library.
(Please refer to the "InterLibrary Loan of Books" tab about borrowing of books.)

【Photocopy Request】(Fee applies)

You can obtain a photocopy of a journal article or a part of a book by specifying the title of the pape, author, name of journal/book, and the page numbers.
Please apply using the online request form "ILL Request (Photocopy)".
Some course funds cover photocopy requests. Photocopies will be delivered to the course mailbox.
Please confirm the course policy with the faculty member in charge of the course before making your request.
If you are using your own money, please make the payment at the library counter.
Even if you cancel the request, you must pay all expenses.

  • The Yamanaka Book Depository provides black and white copies only.
    If you need color copies of materials stored at the Yamanaka Book Depository, please request to borrow the item (Go to the "InterLibrary Loan of Books" tab.)
  • An extra charge is added to items sent by express mail.
  • Fees may vary depending on the kind of material.

【Using Other Keio University Media Centers】

Your student ID card or library card is required for entry.
You may read, photocopy, or check out library materials.
Make sure to follow the rules of each Media Center.

However, be aware that a letter of introduction is required to enter the Collaboration Complex Library (Kyosei-kan) and there are some restrictions on services.

【Visiting and Using Libraries Outside Keio】 (for research and study purposes only)

When the books or journals you need are not in the Keio Media Center collection, you can visit libraries which do have them.
Please follow the rules of the library you are visiting.
You will be required to reimburse any items that you have lost, marked, or damaged. Please treat the library facilities and materials with care.

  • Jikei University Academic Information Center
    The Media Center for Pharmaceutical Sciences has an agreement with Jikei University Academic Information Center that allows students mutual access to library items.
    Those affiliated with the Faculty of Pharmacy or the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences can use the Jikei University Academic Information Center's photocopying services at the same rates as Jikei's student by presenting the "Joint Library Card", which can be borrowed at the Media Center for Pharmaceutical Sciences.
    Students must also present their student ID card.

  • Waseda University Library
    Keio has a shared-use agreement with Waseda University Library.
    With the exception of some libraries, students and full-time Keio faculty and staff members can enter the libraries, view materials, and use services upon showing their student ID cards or proof of identity issued by the university.
    We will issue a letter of introduction for part-time faculty and staff members. Please refer to the below information.

    Proof of identity is issues at the Office of Human Resources Management at Mita Campus or the Administrative Affairs or General Affairs office on each campus.
    Apply well in advance as it may take some time to issue.
    When you cannot obtain a proof of identity before visiting Waseda University Library, please make a request for a Letter of Introduction a Keio University Media Center.

  • Other universities and institutions
    We will issue a Letter of Introduction when you wish to use the library of another university or institution.

    Apply well in advance as it may take some time to issue.
    You will be notified by email when your letter is ready.
    When you visit the library, you need to bring your letter of introduction and student ID card (or proof of identity).
    When you cannot visit the library as scheduled, please notify us beforehand and, if necessary, we can reissue the letter of introduction.

    We will issue a letter of introduction for Keio students and staff who have a valid library card.
    (Only available to correspondence course students who has registered for a bachelor's thesis.)

We accept requests to purchase items not held by the Media Center for Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The requester has first priority on books that are purchased by request.

  • Please note that, depending on the content of the request, it may not be possible to purchase the items requested.
  • Please consult the faculty member in charge of the relevant course about purchasing academic journals.
  • It may take some time to purchase the requested book or journal. Please apply well in advance.
    If you need materials urgently, please use the InterLibrary Loan of Books Loan services or visit libraries that have those materials in their collection..
